Join me for Green December!

Today’s post is going to be a bit different than my usual travel-related ones, but it is for a special occasion. Even though I don’t talk about it a lot in here, climate and environmental issues are really important – and worrying – to me, and I think bringing awareness to these issues is crucial nowadays.

This is why I decided to take part in Green December, an initiative launched by the global movement NOW!, which aims at solving the biggest challenges of our time, from climate change to extremism, by uniting people all around the world to tackle these issues together. They do so many things and are truly inspiring, so I suggest you check out their website and follow them on Instagram for more details!

As one of their core values is ecology, NOW! has launched a petition on January 1st 2020 to ask the UN Security Council to declare a global climate emergency. In this context, they started a campaign, a sort of call to action for people all around the world to take coordinated individual actions and fight against the climate crisis.

And this is what Green December is: by taking part to this initiative, you will receive each day an email containing one small, actionable step that you can take in order to counter climate change every day. Many people all around the world are joining, so they are definitely do-able and at everyone’s reach!

As I am trying to have a more sustainable and environmental-friendly lifestyle, I am sure this will help me to be more conscious about the environment on a daily basis and inspire me to implement these actions beyond this month of December.

During a month where we often feel like we have to indulge in the consumption of many goods and services, which all have their environmental impact, I think it will be great to keep our planet in mind and do more to protect it. After all, this is also what growth is about.

Do you want to join?

It would be great! I can’t wait to start this challenge, learn even more about this topic, and truly contribute to something that is so important to me! I would be super thrilled if some of you wanted to participate in this with me, so please let me know if this motivated you to be involved too. You can already sign up for it or even join during December, as every little step counts!

Hey, I'm Juliette! I'm starting this blog to keep a record of and share my adventures. I love everything sweet, sunny days, fluffy kittens and people who smile. When I don't work I like to discover new places and try to learn languages. I hope you will find something that you like in here! ☼

  1. This is such a fantastic article, and I am so pleased to find out that I am not the only one concerned about the overall health of our Planet! I am definitely joining in with you, Juliette. We are already big fans of living sustainable lives but this Christmas we are going completely green. Climate change and global warming solutions should be part of our everyday conversations because there is so much everyone can do. We all can refinish, refurbish, recycle, reuse, resell and repair. Thanks for sharing and have a good day. Aiva xxx
