The Inspiring Bloggers tag

You might have noticed that I wasn’t very active on the blog recently, mainly as I have been trying to find a new routine that works well for me and allows me to have some time – and mental capacity – to blog regularly.

I am slowly getting there though, and the best way to do so is by responding to Anjali’s nomination for the “Inspiring bloggers” tag. Anjali’s blog, Chasing the Maximum Life, is a little gem that will not fail to inspire you in so many different topics, from fashion to lifestyle. Anjali is such a supportive blogger, so I strongly encourage you to check out her blog!

The rules are to include the logo in my post, thank the lovely blogger who was so kind to nominate me, answer the questions they asked and nominate other bloggers who inspired me by asking them 5 new questions.

Questions asked by Anjali:

If you weren’t into blogging, what’s the one thing you would probably be doing instead?

I feel like I already do so many things outside of work, that if I wasn’t into blogging, I would just dedicate more time to my other hobbies: music, watercolour, learning languages, studying, etc. Or just watch more series on Netflix, go out with friends, do some sports… I have so many ideas!

What do you do when you feel demotivated to write?

It depends. Either I cut myself some slack and just accept that it is how it is and instead of “forcing” myself to write something I just to do something else instead. Sometimes, however, I do have to force myself a bit and the motivation comes back after a few minutes. The hardest part is always the start, and usually the rest comes easily!

An inspiring quote you live by.

I feel like I have already talked about that one, but I’m often coming back to this quote from The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin, which is something along the lines of:

“Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.”

This inspires me to stop being a perfectionist and embrace the humanly mistakes that we all make in all aspects of life, and also that doing even just 5% of something is still better than 0%. This has helped me a lot with this blog of course, but also for my language learning, where I often feel lost about the amount of things I still need to learn!

What is your favourite type of food?

That’s a very tough question! I would say that I love sweet food in general (cookies, pies, cakes, etc.), but my favourite cuisine is definitely Italian and Mediterranean in general. However, when I order take out I usually go for sushi or Indian!

What inspiring message would you like to pass on to other people/bloggers?

I think the quote I shared earlier pretty much sums up my philosophy when it comes to growth and perfectionism in general. The anticipation and fear of something often block us from taking the first step, which is usually the hardest. This applies to so many things in life, from starting a new habit to meeting new people, and even just writing a blog post! So, I would say that taking the first step towards something – even if it is just a baby step – can really go a long way, keeping in mind that we are all human. Bouncing back is almost as important as starting fresh!

Anjali, thank you again so much for thinking of me for this tag, I enjoyed answering to these questions so much!

Finally, thanks to all of you who read me and engage regularly with me on my blog, you inspire and motivate me to write new blog posts even when life gets busier!

I’d love to hear your answer to one of these questions in the comments!

Haha, I’m somewhat of a hobby collector too, and I’d probably do the same if I weren’t blogging, which is to spend that time on my other possible activities. I like not having all my eggs in one basket.

So now, if I get injured, I get to focus on writing. And when I’m feeling creatively stuck, I get to read or draw. Things would be so inconvenient should I only have one vocation!

Oh I completely agree with you! I love having eggs scattered in a bunch of different baskets though it usually ends up in me being overwhelmed and feeling like days, and weekends are way too short! I’m getting better at it though ahah – I still have to get better at considering working out a hobby too! Thanks for stopping by!

Another thing that’s bad about hobby collecting is that I never really get to specialise. So I can talk about a bunch of things to people, but we can’t have real deep conversations because I’ll prolly suck at those things 😛
