Sunshine Blogger Award nomination ☼

I was so surprised when I saw that lovely Eris of https://erisgoesto.com/ nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award! It is the first time ever, and given the age of this blog (a bit more than 1 month) and the number of posts, I was definitely not expecting it and I am so grateful to her for thinking of me!

So, according to the rules, I have to answer the 11 questions that Eris has asked me, and then write my own 11 questions for other bloggers (I will nominate them at the end of this post). Here we go!

Which is more important – Health or wealth?

Being both would be great haha, though I think health is more important: if you’re wealthy but not healthy then your money is useless isn’t it? Especially as everything can not be cured with money. Being healthy on the other side allows you to reach your full potential and maybe become wealthy one day 😉

If you could go back in time to change one thing in your life, what would it be?

I have to say that I’m pretty happy with how my life turned out to be. There are obviously things that I wish had happened but didn’t, things that I wish had not happened that did, or things I would have warned my younger self about, relationships I wouldn’t have been on, things I wouldn’t have done. But maybe, if I had changed them, I wouldn’t be where I am now, who knows!

However, there are two, very simple things that, I think, would have made my life better/easier had I done them. It will probably sound stupid and not very important, but, I wish I hadn’t stopped learning German in high school (I have to make up for that now) and, more importantly, I wish I had done an Erasmus during university (I only went to live abroad after 5 years of uni).

Currently on your travel bucket list.

SO. MANY. THINGS. To avoid having an endless post I will pick 5. Not sure if they are the top 5 but anyway: Iceland, the US (especially Los Angeles), New Zealand, Thailand aaand Costa Rica? Or Chile? Cuba? Mexico? Argentina? Indonesia? I basically want to go everywhere!

For closer destinations I really want to go to Portugal, Germany (can’t believe I’ve never been there!!) and Croatia!

Something you’ve been saving up to buy.

Unsurprisingly, I’ve been saving up to travel, mostly.

Is there an insecurity (physical or mental) that you wish to overcome?

Like everyone, I have my fair share of insecurities that I wish I didn’t have, but I’m on my way to overcoming some of them, which is nice! For a travel-related one, I have no problems traveling solo, and actually really like it, but don’t like to eat alone at restaurants… I wish I did though! (if you have any tips feel free to share btw haha).

If someone deliberately does something to wrong you (eg, cheat or lie), do they deserve a second chance?

It depends on the context, the history, etc. If the purpose was to make me feel bad, then no, obviously. But I also think that sometimes things happen and you can’t really control it, people get lost, make mistakes and sometimes regret them.

I think that in the end, the most important thing is just to do whatever feels right. If someone asks for a second chance but you know you won’t forgive them, then there’s no point in giving it to them. If you think things can still work out, then try it. If you give up on something without even trying to go past certain difficulties, you risk regretting it for the rest of your life.

I’m not saying that you should always forgive someone that has cheated on you or lied to you, especially if it’s deliberate!! It depends a lot on the situation and personality of the persons involved.

Is honesty always the best policy?

That’s a tough one… To be honest I’m not sure. It is always better to be honest and tell the truth, especially in an important relationship and when asked to. But sometimes there are things that you just don’t want to know (so don’t ask!), or things that might hurt unnecessarily (I don’t like when people use honesty as an excuse for being mean for instance). To sum it up, say it if you’ve cheated, but you don’t have to tell your co-worker that you don’t like her dress!

A song that changed your life.

I don’t think I have a specific song that changed my life, but definitely a lot of songs that have accompanied me through life and helped me in different moments!

A childhood cartoon crush.

Not a cartoon but maybe Zack and Cloud from Final Fantasy VII… 😉

An unforgettable moment or point in life that has shaped you into the person you are today.

Maybe going to live in Cornwall for 8 months: first “real” work experience, first time living abroad by myself… It started at a time in my life where I needed it and lasted a bit too long, but long enough for me to know what I wanted in life. Sorry if that doesn’t make a lot of sense!

Do men or women make for more long lasting friendships? Based on your answer, why do you think so?

Again, it depends on the personality of everyone. Personally, I find it easier to be friends with women and I am often scared that my attitude towards a guy might be misinterpreted, so I tend to keep more distance. That’s a shame though!

Now, for the bloggers I want to nominate:

And here are my questions, if you want to answer them:

  1. What is your dream holiday destination?
  2. What are two or three wonderful memories you have of trips you went on?
  3. Is there a popular destination that doesn’t sound that great to you or that you think is overrated?
  4. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
  5. Name five things that never fail to make you happy (a song, a kitten, a cup of tea, a specific video, anything!)
  6. Where was your best trip so far and why?
  7. Is there a specific thing you want to do in a specific country or city? (eg. trying sushi in Japan, ice-skating in Norway…)
  8. What is your favourite means of transport?
  9. In which continent, country or city would you like to live for at least some time? Why?
  10. Is there something that really annoys you when you travel?
  11. What do you like the most about traveling?

Finally, the rules:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  • Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
  • Nominate new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award in your post/or on your blog.
  • Notify the nominees about it by commenting on one of their blog posts.

Thanks again Eris, I really liked answering those questions and I hope my answers weren’t too boring!

Let me know what you think about these questions and feel free to comment with your own opinions, I would love hear them!

Great answers! Congratulations on your first nomination for this award! 😀 If you like Cloud and played through FFVII, then you could also check out the movie they made, set after the events of the game, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children! 😀
